gespräch mit erinleehong: reclaiming sound geographies
Pedro Ramírez became interested in erinleehong's soundworld when he first saw her work, titled "home". In it she drew the floor plan of the only apartment she’s ever felt at home by using the graphic interface of Pure Data, the popular sound coding environment. This special connection she makes between drawing, locality, technology and intimacy was what brought Pedro to ask her about her debut EP "Reclamation", recently released compositions sought as reflections of her experience between Berlin, Incheon, Cologne and Seoul towards constructing her own sense of place. They sat together and talked about lines, neo-manga, field recordings, airports and swamps but also about what it means to claim a place as your own, while being an artist on the move between three different geographies.
